We believe the Holy Bible, the collection of sixty-six books from Genesis to Revelation, is the Word of God. It was written by men who were supernaturally inspired. It contains truth without any admixture of error. It is and shall remain to the end of the age, the only complete and final revelation of the will of God to humanity. The true center of the Christian union and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be tried. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Matthew 24:35)
We believe there is one and only one, living and true God, an infinite, intelligent Spirit, the maker and supreme ruler of heaven and earth, inexpressibly glorious in holiness and worthy of all possible honor, confidence, and love. In the unity of the Godhead, there are three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption. (Genesis 1:1; Isaiah 45:5a; Job 38).
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, equal with God the Father and God the Spirit, and of the same nature. In His incarnation, He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Completely with humanity, yet without sin, His substitutionary death on the cross, He made provision for the redemption of all humanity from sin. (John. 1:1-4; Matthew 1:23; Colossians 1:15-20)
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third divine Person of the Triune God, equal with God the Father and the Son, and of the same nature. He convicts of sin to unbelievers, does and fulfills the work of Christ in Christian believers. (Genesis 1:2, 26; John 16:7-11; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11)
We believe the Devil or Satan was once holy, named Lucifer, and enjoyed heavenly honors. But through pride and ambition to be the Almighty God, he fell and drew after himself a host of angels, humankind's great tempter, the enemy of God and His Christ, the accuser of the saints, and the author of false religions. (Isaiah 14:12-15; Luke 10:18; Revelation 12:9)
We believe in the Genesis account of creation and that it is to be accepted literally, and not allegorically or figuratively; that man was created directly in God's image and after His own likeness; that man's creation was not a matter of evolution or evolutionary change of species, or development through interminable times from lower to higher forms; that all animal and vegetable life was made directly by God and God's established law was that they should bring forth only after their kind. (Genesis 1; Isaiah 45:18; Mark 10:6)
We believe man is not a matter of evolution but was created in a state of innocence under the law of his Maker, God. Tempted by Satan, man voluntarily chose to sin against God. Since then, sin has separated humanity from God. Through His blood, only Jesus Christ has the power to reconcile humanity to God. (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 3; 1 Timothy 2:5-6)
We believe Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Ghost miraculously, born of Mary, a virgin, as no other man was ever born or can ever be born of woman, and that He is the Son of God, and God, the Son. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; Matthew 16:16-17)
We believe Jesus Christ, to affect the salvation of sinners, was born of God without sin, lived a sinless life, and died on the cross at Calvary as the sinner's substitute, shedding His blood for the forgiveness and remission of humankind's sins. (John 1:29; 1 John 2:1-2; Ephesians 1:7)
We believe salvation is by grace, not by works, through faith, the gift from God to anyone who believes. The sinner must repent of sin and be born again to be saved and to receive forgiveness for sin. The New Birth is a new creation or life in Jesus Christ and fully submits to His will for the welfare of our lives. (John 3:3-7; John 3:16-18; Ephesians 2:8-10; 5:8-9)
We believe repentance and faith are solemn obligations and inseparable graces wrought in our souls by the quickening Spirit of God. Thereby, being deeply convicted of our guilt, danger, and helplessness, and of the way of salvation by Christ, we turn to God with a renewed mind and unfeigned contrition, confession, and supplication of our souls for mercy and fruit of repentance at the same time heartily receiving the Lord Jesus Christ and openly confessing Him as our only and all enough Savior. (Luke 24:47; Acts 20:21; Acts 3:19)
We believe the great gospel blessing Christ secures, such as believing in Him, is justification. It is the pardon of sin and the gift of eternal life through faith in the Redeemer's blood; His righteousness is imputed unto us, from the state of sin (injustice) to the state of grace (justice). (Romans 4:3-5; Romans 5:9; Galatians 3:6-9)
We believe the local church [Ekklesia] is the congregation of professing and baptized believers who meet regularly for prayer, worship, teaching, fellowship, and fulfilling the Great Commission. Only the local church can conduct and observe Christ's ordinances: Baptism and Holy Communion. We believe the universal church is the Body of Christ made of all professing believers under the headship and lordship of Christ. (Matthew 16:18-19; Matthew 28:18-20; Hebrews 10:19-25)
We believe Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a real and living experience for a professing Christian believer; the Holy Spirit indwells, seals, and empowers a believer to live a new life, worship God, and use spiritual gifts to benefit all. Baptism, by immersion of a believer in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, is to show forth in a solemn and beautiful emblem the faith in the crucified, buried, risen, and ascended Savior Jesus Christ. (John 3:5; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Matthew 28:19)
The Lord's Supper, or the Holy Communion, is one of the ordinances given by Jesus Christ and is to be observed only by the professing and baptized believers until Christ returns. Only the local church has the power and the authority to conduct the Lord's Supper. (Matthew 26:26-28; Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-31)
The Holy Spirit has individually given and equipped believers with His gifts to serve God's people, edify and equip the Body of Christ, successfully continue the Great Commission, and achieve God's purpose for humanity. (Romans 12:3-8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31; 1 Peter 4:10-11)
We believe tithing is holy, and God commands us to give back to God the tenth of all our income (10 percent of one's gross income before taxes). Giving financial and material gifts goes beyond the tenth to support and advance the work of God's kingdom. We believe both tithing and giving are fundamental acts of worshiping God. (Leviticus 27:30-33; Malachi 3:8-12; 2 Corinthians 9:6-8)
We believe God blesses both believers and pagans. But the blessings that God bestows on faithful believers are beyond material blessings, including God's favor, protection, and eternal life. (Matthew 5:45b; Matthew 6:33; Deuteronomy 28:1-14)
We believe genuine and fake miracles are happening today as in the past. Though miracles are rare these days, the Holy Spirit still performs miracles in believers who believe in God and His Word. (John 14:12-14; Acts 3:16; Hebrews. 13:8)
We believe God has ordained that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside a marriage. The Holy Bible defines marriage as the joining of one man and one woman. All other forms of sexual behavior corrupt God's wonderful gift of sex. God does not favor the intentional alteration of one's gender by surgery or appearance. We also believe a household is God's foundational institution for humanity and the church to fulfill His will on earth. (Genesis 2:18-25; Hebrews 13:4; Deuteronomy 6:4-9)
A civil government is of divine appointment for human society's interests and good order. Magistrates are to be prayed for, conscientiously honored, and obeyed, except in things opposed to the will of the Lord Jesus Christ, the only Lord of the conscience and the King of the kings of the earth. (Romans 13:1-7; Titus 3:1; Mark 12:17)
The special Providence watches over real and genuine believers placed under saving faith in Christ over their welfare and are kept by the power of God through faith unto eternal salvation. (John 10:27-30; Ephesians 1:11-14; 1 Peter 1:3-5)
There is a radical and essential difference between the righteous and the wicked. This distinction holds among men both in and after death, in the everlasting Felicity of the saved and the everlasting conscious suffering of the lost. (1 Peter 3:12; Acts 24:15; Matthew 25:31-46)
We believe in Christ's bodily resurrection from the dead and His ascension into heaven, which is the full assurance for believers of the bodily resurrection. (Mark 16:6; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Corinthians 15)
We believe in the imminent Second Coming of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, which shall be preceded by the Rapture event that may occur at any time, even now. (John 14:3; Zachariah 14:1-5; Revelation 19:11-16)
We believe the eternal destination to Heaven or Hell is by choice and determined by individual response to the Lord Jesus Christ's call. (Daniel 12:2; Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 20:15)
