Minister Akeem was living in Nairobi, Kenya when God spoke to him for the first time about his calling. God started by revealing to him the plan He had for his life. Afterward, he told him to return to his native country, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The unrest state of his country caused him to be reluctant. However, he ended up obeying God's voice. In December 2001, he took his wife and his daughter, El Shaddai, with him, and they left Kenya for Congo.
While in Congo, in May 2003, the Holy Spirit led him to start a prayer meeting for young people. A few months later, God confirmed his work. The prayer meetings were no longer for young people only because God brought people from different neighborhoods, cities, towns, and villages to attend. Briefly, it was a revival! The Holy Spirit was performing great things to confirm the preached Word of God. Many unsaved people attending prayer meetings and outdoor evangelistic events accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Children and young adults were saved and filled with the Holy Spirit. Those spiritually chained were delivered from the power of darkness. Those who were sick received healing. God also renewed and empowered Christian believers for His work, and they became more committed and engaged in serving God.
Per God's instruction, on Saturday, November 20, 2004, Jesus Station of Good News Ministries (JSGN) was founded by Akeem and his siblings in the Lord. God's instruction was clear and specific: "To proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all creation" (Mark 16:15). This important and historic event took place on the mountain Bethel at Itara, Groupement de Bushumba, Kabare territory, South Kivu province, the DRC. On Wednesday, January 12, 2005, the JSGN was legally registered and approved as a non-profit religious organization by the government of the DRC.
Before the ministry was founded, the Holy Spirit told minister Akeem that He would take him to a faraway country where he would serve God on another level. All the prophecies, dreams, and visions in connection to this promise had been unfolding one after the other. In June 2005, God honored his promises and miraculously brought his servant to the United States of America.
On December 31, 2009, the Jesus Station of Good News Ministries (JSGN) became Jesus Center of Good News (JCGN) when the ministry was legally incorporated and approved under Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 180. On June 6, 2011, all JCGN members voted to transfer its headquarters to MA, United States of America. The international legal representation of the Jesus Center of Good News is currently headquartered at 345 Main Street, Oxford, MA, USA.
Beginning in January 2011, in his last year of Biblical studies, Pastor Akeem started weekly prayer and monthly planning meetings in his home in Chelsea, MA. The primary purpose of prayer was to seek God's will and guidance. This journey was not easy because very few people understood God's calling in his life. At first, there were only four people in the community. But Akeem did not give up. He kept trusting God and His promises.
On Sunday, January 23, 2011, after completing seven days of prayers and fasting, a God's messenger from New York, USA, came to Akeem’s home with this message: “God told me to tell you, 'I have given you a church. And I want you to start praying for it.'" But Akeem did not mind much about the message. A year later, the same messenger returned to his home with the message, "I have given you a church to shepherd on my due time," says the Lord God. This was on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, a year since he received his first message. However, Akeem did not plan or desire to start a local church in the USA. His passion and plan were to establish a Retreat Center of Fasting and Prayer in MA. During that time, he fasted and prayed for it, even spending his money on that project. But the messenger insisted that God showed her a church, which was the message she was instructed to deliver to the servant of God, Akeem.
On Saturday, April 7, 2012, JCGN held its first public event, a gospel concert, at the Westin Hotel in Waltham, MA. The event aimed to introduce the ministry to the public by sharing its mission and vision and raising funds to support its work in the DRC.
On Sunday, May 19, 2013, JCGN met with friends at 19 Park Street, Chelsea, MA, to share the ministry's mission and vision and discuss faith-related issues affecting the communities and how to contribute to solving some of them. At the end of the meeting, most people joined JCGN and agreed to start public prayer meetings that will be followed by establishing a local church at God's appointed time. The meetings will be held on Sundays from 4:00 pm ET to 5:00 pm ET at 172 Washington Avenue, Chelsea, MA. This continued for a few months. Then, God opened a huge door for his work by providing a place for worship meetings at 1268 Broadway, Saugus, MA. On Sunday, September 15, 2013 (in the evening), JCGN held its first Sunday worship service, which was attended by other churches, families, and friends in support of the commencement of the work of God in the new location. On Sunday, September 22, 2013, JCGN held its first regular Sunday worship service (in the morning). Since then, despite the trials and challenges that a church may go through, God has been faithful to His work and servants.
Despite JCGN's challenges, God has been using the ministry to reach out to nations. It has changed the lives of many people in local and international communities. Presently, JCGN is established in the DRC, Kenya, and America. This is only the beginning of the global spread of God's Love to many and hope to the hopeless. JCGN looks forward to extending to other nations and fulfilling the Great Commission for God's glory.
Although God's promises for this work have not yet been fulfilled, God continues to write history with JCGN. Through prayers, teaching, and serving others, God's love can change the world. The JCGN was born out of prayers, has grown with prayers, and still exists through prayers because of God's love. Eventually, God will fulfill every word spoken about JCGN and his servant Akeem. For "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he shall repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?" (Numbers 23:19).
We invite you to join us and become part of our community and history. To find out more, feel free to contact us. It is our pleasure to have and serve you. We believe in diversity's beauty and strength (Revelation 7:9). We give hope to nations while gathering outcasts in God's house. (Isaiah 56:1-8).
